Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail

Build in 1906 shortly after the liner Manchuria ran aground on a nearby reef, this lighthouse perches high on Makapu'u Points. Its powerful lens beams light 28 miles out to sea. On clear days the islands of Molokai is visible 26 mile away. Whales can sometime be seen playing in the deep channel between Oahu and Molokai
