Kona Coast Coffee Tour

Coffee and Kona are a match made in coffee lover's haven, Rich volcano soil, hardworking family farmers, and perfect climatic condition. The first coffee was planted by missionary Samuel Ruggles in 1828 . The historian will enjoy the journey into Kona coffee's rich and varied past. Like a fine vintage wine, 100% Kona is distinguished from lesser coffees by the tremendous extra care taken through every step of its production.  Today Kona coffee is still grown on relatively small farms. It is still picked by hand assuring that only the ripest finest berries are picked and processed. Kona is  Macadamia Nuts to. In 1882, William Herbert Purvis introduced the tree crop to Hawaii when he brought seeds from Australia and planted them at Kukuihaele, on the island of Hawaii.
